More than 204 million Android phones sold globally in the last quarter only operating system supported by Google managed to climb this year to 81.3% market share. For comparison, in the same period last year were shipped 129.6 million Android platform holding 75% of the market share dominated .
No. 2, Apple lose more market share, reaching iOS phones system to represent only 13.4% of total sales in the smartphone market, compared to 15.6% last year. The explanation comes from the Android camp, where sales have grown faster than last year, countering Apple's performances.
Microsoft has seen double the market share of Windows Phone mobile aside from 2% to 4%. The result is a 178% increase in sales volume from 3.7 million units a year ago to 10.2 million units this year. The Windows Phone platform is the fastest growing market share year after year. According to the Strategy Analytics, growth enjoyed by the Windows Phone platform is due almost entirely to sales of Nokia Lumia, well received in the markets of Europe, Asia and the United States.
